Android Application Developer

Job brief

We are looking for a qualified Application Developer to design and code a functional subscription based application. Must have a minimum 2 years developing and deploying mobile applications for both Android and iOS platform. Experience with Subscription based apps a must. An ideal candidate should have excellent knowledge of several programming languages including C# and must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms. They should also have a working knowledge of both front end and back end interfaces as well as UI/UX. Experience on cloud based technologies are a plus. The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.

The goal is to write "clean" code to produce a fully functional software application according to requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and how they translate in application features.
• Collaborate to set specifications for new and existing app features.
• Design creative prototypes according to specifications.
• Write high quality source code to program complete application within deadlines.
• Perform unit and integration testing before launch.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing
• Troubleshoot and debug application.
• Evaluate existing application to reprogram, update and add new features.
• Develop technical documents to accurately represent application design and code.

Requirements

• Proven experience as application developer.
• Experience in designing and building applications from start to finish.
• Experience in UI/UX design and development.
• Ability to program in several programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.
• In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
• Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
• A team player with excellent communication skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
• Great attention to detail and time-management skills
• Strong SQL experience, with the ability to manually write SQL queries
• More than one app successfully launched in the Google play store and a current app available that can be freely downloaded from the store or provided for review.
• Experience working with RESTful API's using XML and JSON.
• 2+ years of experience with Android Studio SDK and Android Java.
• Solid understanding of functional programming and how different program components fit together
• Experience in a large data environment desired
• Certified application developer is a plus
