Having a pool not only requires work on the pool itself but requires care for equipment to maintain your pool. But what happens if your equipment breaks ?
Probability
First off, a motor can last about 8 to 10 years. If it is making weird or screechy noises you should definitely look into buying a new motor. A pool filter will last about 2000 hours. Also, if you enter the pool with suntan lotion, hair care products, or other chemicals your pools filter will not last as long!
Not really broken
In many cases pool owners throw away their pool pumps for reason which they can fix!
Process
- You may be asking yourself the question what the process is of pool resurfacing. First off, a company will sand blast, acid etch or simply scrape off the old plaster. Next your new plaster of choice will be implemented into your pools surface.
- If your pool motor is making a humming noise or sounds like its full of rocks, try to clean the debris out of your suction tubes.
- Another issue is if your pool motor is leaking water. Try to purchase a go-kit it will have the necessary tools to fix your pump for an inexpensive price.
- In addition to these issues another issue can be that your pump basket is not filling with water. You should attempt to turn off any pressure being released from the pump. Next remove the lid and clean any existing debris.
- If your pool pump is sucking in air you should look into checking the pump lid if there is any leaks if not look at the pipes coming into the pump and if theirs any leaks or damage to them.
- If your pool pump stops working in the middle of running make sure that it is not overheating.
